PETER COLE IS 2009 BUKC DRIVERS CHAMPION

Clay Pigeon in Dorset was the venue for the 2009 British University Karting Drivers Championship. It is the one opportunity each year for team tactics and friendship to go out of the window and a straight fight to be crowned BUKC Drivers Champion for 2009.

Having been one of the quickest driver in the BUKC for the past years, Swansea Mets 2009 Captain Pete was always one of the favourites heading to a circuit he has raced on since a child.

Pete managed to finish 6th in both his heats, ensuring a front end starting spot in the A final.

After the start and being ahead of some first corner carnage, Pete was in 7th place. He took his time and picked his moments well to move through the field and onto the back of the leader David Evans with just 2 laps left.

Heading down the long straight to Billy’s Blind Pete dived down the inside with a committed move. Evans could do little to defend and Pete managed to give himself enough of a buffer to drive a composed final lap and secure himself the 2009 Drivers Championship!

It was a great way to end his BUKC career and everyone from Swansea Mets was glad to see one of our lads in P1!

Top Job Mate!
